Parking issues in Streetfield, Herne
Dear Residents,
I have received repeat concerns from residents regarding parking in Streetfield, Herne, particularly during school pick‑up and drop‑off times for the local school.
I attended the area yesterday and witnessed a number of issues, including vehicles:
· Parking on double yellow lines, making it difficult and unsafe for other road users to manoeuvre
· Parking across residents’ driveways, preventing access
· Parking on zig‑zag markings outside of the school, which poses a risk to pedestrian and child safety
Drivers involved were spoken to and given words of advice.
We understand school run times can be busy; however, inconsiderate or illegal parking causes frustration for residents and can create genuine safety concerns.
I will be regularly patrolling this area, and irresponsible parking will be addressed through advice and enforcement where necessary.
Please plan your journey, park considerately, and use appropriate parking locations. By working together, we can help keep the area safe, accessible, and respectful for everyone.
Thank you for your cooperation and continued support.
