The Parish Council has 65 allotment garden plots, made up as half-plot size (132 square metres), that are overseen and run by Herne and Broomfield Allotment Society (HABAS) Kent.
These are situated on land adjacent to the Broomfield Community Park and BMX Track, off of Ford Road. The land is leased from Holy Cross Church in Hoath for the purpose of providing these allotments for the residents of the parish.
There is water available on site, plus a WC and a parking area.
HABAS are planning to add a few more plots; a couple of half-plot size, plus a couple of quarter-plot size.
Some plotholders have two plots, but only after proving themselves with one first, and only if there is no waiting list at the time. New people rarely have to wait very long before a plot becomes available.
