Two suspected car thieves have been arrested following a quick response by officers in Canterbury.
Kent Police was contacted shortly after 8.30am on Thursday 11 May 2023 following a report a car had been stolen in the St Stephen’s Road area of the city.
Shortly after that, it was reported that the missing vehicle had collided with another car in Sturry Road.
Arrests
Officers from Canterbury’s Local Policing Team attended and the car was soon found abandoned in the same area.
Further enquiries established descriptions of two people believed to be involved and a man and a woman were arrested in the city centre less than an hour later.
The two people remain in custody while enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the theft, and the collision, remain ongoing.
