We have seen a rise in cold callers this week across the county. As Spring approaches, criminals use this as a way to try and scam residents. They impersonate traders to suggest your garden or roof needs work or that you need your solar panels looked at. These attempts try to trick you into overpriced contracts or quotes.
Please do not open the door to cold callers. If you feel threatened contact Kent Police.
We have received reports of a cold caller in the Maidstone area knocking on doors.

Kent residents targeted by solar panel scam
⛔ Cold callers are actively targeting residents in Kent claiming that their solar panel maintenance check is due. These criminals will always find a reason to find a fault or take money. Some residents are being asked to sign a solar panel maintenance contracts that locks them in 10 years.
🚨 This is a scam.
🚨 Do not open the door to cold callers.

Kent resident scammed buying football ticket on social media
🔴 A resident was looking for a football match ticket and asked in a local Facebook group if anyone had a spare. A member of the group private messaged them saying they had one to sell for £80. The resident accepted and transferred them the money only to be instantly blocked. They did not get the ticket or their money back.
If this has happened to you get advice and report it to Citizens Advice on 0808 223 1133.

Dog owners in Kent are being urged to keep control of their pets in the countryside following a rise in attacks on sheep.
As the lambing season gets under way, the National Farmers’ Union (NFU), Kent Police and Kent Trading Standards are working together to urge pet owners to obey the Countryside Code and ensure their dogs are kept under control.
