On Thursday we held our D Day commemoration.
This included a very comprehensive display of war time memorabilia, information about D Day, medals, photographs, art displays, the choir from Herne Junior School singing war time songs, make do and mend, our cafe offering free refreshments and the showing of events from France.
A huge thank you to all those that contributed to the display including local residents, the Herne & Broomfield local history group, Broomfield Art Club, SSAFA, amongst many others.
Another thank you to Cllr Jeremy Wilson for organising the event. It proved very popular.
