We have some exciting news we can share with you at last. we were successful in our bid for £15,000 of funding from the National Lottery Community Fund.
This means the MUGA (multi use games area) in cherry orchard is going to have a new fence, new soft closing gates, the surface will be cleaned, sealed and resprayed and the basket ball hoops and backboards will be replaced. We will also be removing the shelter and replacing it with a recycled plastic bench, as well as replacing the lighting with LED which should have a longer life span.
The MUGA is very well used and has almost doubled its life span, we are hoping with this work, and the community looking after it, we can look forward to another 20 years use. The £15,000 covers about half of the project cost and we feel very lucky for the National Lottery supporting our project.
We have instructed Trevor May to begin works as soon as possible and will keep you all updated as the MUGA will have to be closed when these works are undertaken.
