CCTV images have been released by detectives investigating an alleged serious assault in Herne Bay.

Kent Police was called to the High Street at around 3.30am on Sunday 3 March after it was reported that a man and woman had been assaulted.

Investigation

The man was taken to a local hospital, where he remains receiving treatment for his injuries. The woman was taken to the same hospital and was later discharged.

Enquiries are ongoing and officers would like to speak to those pictured in the CCTV images as they may be able to assist them with their enquiries.

Suspect charged

As part of the same investigation, Patrick Holmes, of Clarendon Street, Herne Bay was arrested on Tuesday 5 March and later charged with grievous bodily harm with intent and assault causing actual bodily harm.

Mr Holmes, 29, was remanded in custody to appear at Canterbury Crown Court on Monday 8 April.
