Crisis support for mental health

Safe Haven CanterburyCrisis support for mental health

We are Canterbury Safe Haven by Mental Health Matters. Here, we provide a safe, non-judgmental environment in which to reduce immediate distress and support visitors to access potential services and opportunities available in the wider community. This is a walk-in service – no referral is needed.

We are an out of hours service working between 6 pm and 11 pm 365 days of year.

MHM Canterbury Safe Haven Age UK | The Centre | Castle Row | Canterbury | CT1 2QY  Open for Face-to-Face support daily 18:00-23:00

We are aiming to increase awareness so that more individuals aged 16+ who experience distress can access one-to-one emotional support from their local MHM Canterbury Safe Haven. You can come just for a chat, or you can access one-to-one emotional support from trained mental health professionals.

We also offer help in creating staying well and crisis plans, and support visitors to access other services and organisations that may be useful to them.

The Kent and Medway Safe Havens offers four welcoming, safe, comfortable, non-judgmental and non-clinical environments, sometimes known as ‘crisis cafes’. At The Havens, we will be able to provide information and emotional support if you are in crisis or feel you are heading towards a crisis situation.

We also offer a virtual service to anyone who cannot attend for face-to-face meeting. Please call us to learn more about it, and/or book an appointment 07876 476703 | 07483 163953
