Emergency Road Closure and Temporary Speed Restriction – A299 Thanet Way and Pilgrims Lane, Whitstable – 1st July 2021 (Canterbury)
It will be necessary to close and implement a 50mph and 40mph speed restriction on A299 Thanet Way and Pilgrims Lane, Whitstable from 1st July 2021 for up to 21 days.
The 50 mph and 40 mph speed restrictions will be in place on the London bound carriageway only from the A299 Whitstable on-slip heading towards the junction with Pilgrims Lane.
The A299 Thanet Way Pilgrims Lane off-slip will be closed for its full length. Pilgrims Lane will be closed in an easterly direction only from its junction with the A299 Thanet Way for a distance of approximately 20 metres to the end of the traffic island.
The alternative route is via A299 Thanet Way, A299 Thanet Way off-slip to Dargate, Dargate Road and Dargate Hill. Traffic exiting Pilgrims Lane is not affected.
The road closures and 50 mph and 40 mph speed restrictions are necessary for the safety of operatives and the general public while emergency drainage works to alleviate flooding are being carried out by Kent County Council.
