Kent residents warned about persistent doorstep callers.

Dear Kent Residents

We continue to receive reports of people calling unexpectedly at residents’ homes, offering services or claiming to represent legitimate companies. This week some callers have become persistent when challenged or refused. Never feel pressured into agreeing to work, handing over money or allowing an unexpected caller into your home.

If you see suspicious individuals going door to door, report them to CrimeStoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or online. If they refuse to leave or act aggressively, call 999 immediately.

If you need work carried out on your home, use a reputable trader through KCC Trading Standards Checked.

Please help protect vulnerable friends, neighbours and family members by sharing these warnings. For advice, contact the Citizens Advice consumer helpline on 0808 223 1133.

We are also sharing the latest food and product safety recalls to help residents identify items that may pose a risk. Please check the alerts below and follow the advice provided if you have any affected products.

⚠️ Doorstep criminals were active this week in Kent offering roofing, gardening and driveway maintenance.

🚫 Do NOT engage with cold callers. Legitimate traders don’t turn up uninvited.
