⚠️ A Barclays phone scam has been targeting residents.
Scammers are calling individuals, claiming to be from Barclays and asking them to open a new bank card. When dialling the number back, it leads to a voicemail for an entirely unrelated business – a clear sign of fraudulent activity.
❌Legitimate banks will never ask you to open new cards or accounts over the phone.
✅Always verify unexpected calls using the official phone numbers published on the bank’s website.
✅If you care for or support someone vulnerable, consider reviewing their call‑blocking or safeguarding options.

⚠️ Personal alarm scam calls in Kent
We’ve had reports of a company cold calling residents in Kent about their personal alarms. Callers are telling residents that their alarm will stop working as providers have changed. They then try to sell a new, more expensive alarm and may add extra maintenance charges.
If you have a personal alarm and you get an unexpected call offering a home visit or an upgrade, please be careful.
🚨 Do not agree to anything on the phone and do not feel pressured into making a quick decision.
