Ledger Live customers from around the country are being contacted by criminals impersonating Greater Manchester Police, explaining that they are investigating a security breach on the victim’s “Ledger Live account.”
They are then asked for the 24 word seed phrase to their ledger, so that the funds can be secured. Once the seed phrase is given, the offender then transfers the crypto out of the control of the victim.
The following are some of the commonalities of this scam –
• GMP officer mentioned.
• Man with a northern accent.
• Passed on to female with a French accent, claiming to be from Ledger Live security team.
• Email address, ending .fr
• Outside the UK Telephone number (33145120935 was the one used by the offenders)
• Ledger live customer.
If you get a suspicious call from anyone, Never Assume or Believe a call is genuine and Confirm, by calling back on a trusted number and not one supplied by the caller.
