South East Water – Temporary Road Closure & Suspension of Environmental Weight Limit – Sweechgate, Broad Oak
23rd October 2023 (Canterbury District)
Due to works planned to be undertaken by South East Water, it will be necessary to close part of Sweechgate, Broad Oak from 23rd October 2023. with estimated completion by 27th October 2023.
Sweechgate, Broad Oak will be closed from the junction with A291 Herne Bay Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The environmental weight limit on Shalloak Road and Sweechgate will be suspended.
The alternative route is via A291 Herne Bay Road, Sturry Hill, A28 Mill Road, Sturry Road, Vauxhall Road, Broad Oak Road, Shalloak Road, Sweechgate and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new water main connection works are undertaken by South East Water.
