Temporary Road Closure – A299 Thanet Way – 11th – 15th April (overnight)

It will be necessary to close A299 Thanet Way, Whitstable to allow bridge maintenance works to be carried out, Kent County Council has
made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of A299 Thanet Way, Whitstable.

A closure is planned from 11th April 2022, between the hours of 20:00 and 05:00, with estimated completion by 15th April 2022, or where stated on a valid Permit (GE40111405185-1-02 – Kent County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signage displayed on site and the works will be displayed on One.Network

A299 Thanet Way will be closed in the general vicinity of the Clapham Hill Overbridge, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while bridge maintenance works are undertaken by Kent County Council.

The alternative route for westbound traffic is via A299 Thanet Way off slip, Clapham Hill roundabout and A299 Thanet Way on-slip.

The alternative route for eastbound traffic is via Thanet Way Slip Way, A2990 Thanet Way and A299 eastbound on-slip.
