Temporary Road Closure & Temporary 40 MPH Speed Limit – Owls Hatch Road, Herne Bay & Lower Herne Road, Herne – 31st October 2022

It will be necessary to close Lower Herne Road, Herne, from 28th November 2022, with estimated completion by 31st January 2023.

In conjunction, it will be necessary to make an Order to temporarily impose a mandatory 40 MPH speed limit on Owls Hatch Road, Herne Bay, for the entire length, from 31st October 2022, with estimated completion by 9th December 2022.

Lower Herne Road, Herne, will be closed in stages throughout the entire length.

Please note, there may need to be an additional closure at a later date once installation is complete if there are any cable faults to repair once made live.

Please also note, there will be a break to the works and closure over the Christmas period, from 16th December 2022, and the works and closure will restart again on the 9th January 2023.

The alternative route is A291 Canterbury Road, A299 Thanet Way, A291 Canterbury Road Roundabout, A2990 Thanet Way, Greenhill Road, Bullockstone Road and vice versa.

The closure and speed restriction are required for the safety of the public and workforce while works to install electricity mains cable for a new development are undertaken by Harlaxton Energy Networks Limited.
