Limited or no service on strike days
Strike action by the ASLEF union is due to take place on the following days:
- Saturday 30 September – No trains running.
- Wednesday 4 October – No trains running.
There is also an ASLEF overtime ban on Friday 29 September and from Monday 2 to Friday 6 October. We expect to run a full service during this time, except on Wednesday 4 October which is a strike day.
Travel advice for Saturday 30 September and Wednesday 4 October
- We’re sorry, but you cannot travel on this date – there are no trains running and no replacement buses. For alternative transport options please visit traveline.
- There are no Thameslink or Southern services running from our stations either. Please visit their websites for more information.
- Online journey planners have been updated for Saturday 30 September and on Wednesday 27 September they will be updated for journeys on Wednesday 4 October.
Strike action cancelled at short notice may still cause disruption
If the strike action is cancelled at short notice we may not be able to switch back to our normal timetable immediately. Rail services are built in complex, interrelated IT systems covering fleet, crew schedules and rosters, and so it takes some time to get everything back to normal.
