UPDATE: SGN – Emergency Road Closure – A28 Wincheap, Gordon Road, Simmonds Road & Tudor Road, Canterbury

UPDATE: Please note, this closure has been extended until the 5th November 2023.

 Emergency Road Closure – A28 Wincheap, Gordon Road, Simmonds Road & Tudor Road, Canterbury – 18th October 2023 (Canterbury)

It will be necessary to close A28 Wincheap, Gordon Road, Simmonds Road & Tudor Road, Canterbury to enable emergency gas escape works to be carried out by SGN. All roads will be closed at the junction with A28 Wincheap.

A28 Wincheap will be closed on the 25th October 2023 for up to 12 days

The alternative route is via:

Westbound – A28 Wincheap Green, Pin Hill, Rhodaus Town, Upper Bridge Street, A2050 St George’s Place, New Dover Road, Dover Road, A2 J A2050 Patrixbourne Join SE , A2 from J A2050 Patrixbourne To J A260/B2046 SE , Biffrons Hill, Bekesbourne Road, Town Hill, Dover Road,  A2 from J A2050 Patrixbourne To J A28 W, A2 J A28 leave NW, A28 Thanington Road, Wincheap.

Eastbound – A28 Wincheap, Thanington Road, A2 From J A28 to J A2050 Harbledown NW, A2 From J A2050 Harbledown to M2 J7 Roundabout NW, A2 M2 J7 Roundabout, A2 From M2 J7 Roundabout to J A2050 Harbledown SE, A2 J A2050 Harbledown Leave SE, A2050 Harbledown Bypass, Rheims Way,

Simmonds Road will be closed on the 18th October 2023 for up to 19 days

The alternative route is via Simmonds Road, Cow Lane, A28 Wincheap – then join the A28 Wincheap diversion route.

Tudor Road will be closed on the 23rd October 2023 for up to 14 days

The alternative route is via Tudor Road, Claremont Place, York Road, Martyrs’ Field Road, St Mildreds Place, Victoria Road, A28 Wincheap – then join the A28 Wincheap diversion route.

Gordon Road will be closed on the 25th October 2023 for up to 12 days

The alternative route is via Gordon Road, Martyrs’ Field Road, St Mildreds Place, Victoria Road, A28 Wincheap – then join the A28 Wincheap diversion route.
