Due to Southern Water sewer main issues in Whitstable Town Centre, it will be necessary to postpone the below works until 27th March 2023.

Temporary Road Closure – A299 Thanet Way & Eastbound Slip onto A2990 Thanet Way, Whitstable – 16th March 2023 (Canterbury District)
It will be necessary to close part of Eastbound Slip onto the A299 Thanet Way, Whitstable from 16th March 2023, with estimated completion by 5th April 2023.
The Eastbound Slip onto the A299 Thanet Way, Whitstable will be closed in two phases, at the junction with the A2990 Thanet Way, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
A temporary mandatory 30 mph speed restriction will be imposed on the A2290 Thanet Way, Whitstable from the existing 40mph signs (east of the traffic island) to Borstal Hill roundabout, to the extent indicated by signage on site.
The alternative routes for any through traffic are via A2990 Thanet Way, Thanet Way Roundabout or Borstal Hill and vice versa.
The restrictions are required for the safety of the public and workforce while electrical connection works are undertaken by Global Utility Connections.
