Update

The works programme has now been updated to the following:

Due to safety issues with working under temporary signals, it will now be necessary to implement Phases 4 and 5 of the Mill Lane closure.

The closure will be in place from 22 May 2023, for up to 4 weeks.

It will also be necessary to close Kingsfield Road at its junction with Mill Lane.

Mill Lane, Herne

Mill Lane, Herne will be closed from 25th March 2023, with estimated completion by 21st April 2023.

The road will be closed in 5 phases, on a rolling closure basis, in the extents detailed below.

Phases 1 – 3 – the road will be closed between the junctions with Mill Lane/Mill View Road and Hunters Forstal Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
Phases 4 – 5 – the road will be closed between the junctions with Hunters Forstal Road and Thanet Way Off Slip, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for phases 1 – 3 is via Broomfield Road, Hawe Farm Way, Hunters Forstal Road, Phase 4 Hunters Forstal Road and Kingsfield Road.

The alternative route for phases 4 – 5 is via Hunters Forstal Road, Margate Road, A299 Thanet Way off slip, Canterbury Road and Mill View Road, or in reverse A299 Thanet Way off slip, Canterbury Road, Herne Street and School Lane.
