Urgent Road Closure – Tankerton Road, Whitstable – 27th April 2023 (Canterbury)
It will be necessary to close Tankerton Road, Whitstable from 27th April 2023 for up to 1 day.
The road will be closed between the junctions of Wynn Road and Bennells Avenue.
The alternative route for southbound traffic is via B2205 Canterbury Road, Borstal Hill, A2990 Thanet Way, Chestfield Road, B2205 Herne Bay Road, St Swithins Road, Tankerton Road, Tower Parade, Harbour Street and High Street.
The alternative route for northbound traffic is via B2205 High Street, Horsebridge Road, Harbour Street, Tower Parade, Tankerton Road, Bennells Avenue, Herne Bay Road, Chestfield Road, A2990 Thanet Way, B2205 Borstal Hill and Canterbury Road.
The alternative route for vehicles over 4.0m 13’ 3” high travelling northbound is via B2205 High Street, Horsebridge Road, Harbour Street, Tower Parade, Tankerton Road, Bennells Avenue, Herne Bay Road, St John’s Road, Colewood Road, Whitstable Road, Sea Street, Greenhill Bridge Road, A2990 Thanet Way, B2205 Borstal Hill, Canterbury Road.
The alternative route for vehicles over 4.0m 13’ 3” high travelling southbound is via B2205 Canterbury Road, Borstal Hill, A2990 Thanet Way, Greenhill Bridge Road, B2205 Sea Street, Whitstable Road, Colewood Road, St John’s Road, Herne Bay Road, St Swithins Road, Tankerton Road, Tower Parade, Harbour Street, High Street.
It is planned that the road will be closed between 09:30 hrs and 15:30 hrs.
This is to enable carriageway patching to be carried out by Kent County Council.
