Our Community Grant Scheme is designed to help projects and initiatives that make a positive difference to people living in the parish. The scheme aims to:
Support community-led and charitable initiatives that improve the quality of life for parish residents.
Encourage volunteering, social inclusion and stronger community connections.
Help local organisations develop projects that provide lasting benefits to the community.
Enhance the wellbeing of residents and improve the local area.
What can grants be used for?
Grants may be awarded towards:
One-off community projects or events.
Start-up costs for new initiatives.
The purchase of equipment or materials.
Improvements to community facilities, including recreation and sporting opportunities.
Environmental, educational or social projects.
Activities or services that benefit parish residents.
Projects that improve the local environment.
Initiatives that promote Herne and Broomfield in a positive way.
What won’t be funded?
Grants will not normally be awarded for:
Routine running costs or day-to-day operating expenses.
Salaries or wages.
Projects or activities that have already taken place.
Who can apply?
Applications are welcome from:
Voluntary, charitable and community organisations.
Clubs and societies with a constitution or governing document.
Faith-based organisations for community (non-religious) projects.
Schools and educational groups where the project benefits the wider community.
