Good morning,
Water levels in our drinking water storage tanks in the Herne Bay and Whitstable area are stable but continue to be lower than we need, especially with the hotter weather forecast this week.
This, combined with the demand for drinking water remaining high, and despite our treatment and storage facilities working at full capacity, means there is still a risk that supplies could be impacted.
What are we doing?
We are using tankers to directly inject water into drinking water storage tanks which supply the area and have changed the way water moves around our network in order to support the area as much as we can.
We are monitoring the situation closely to see if water deliveries should be scheduled to our customers on the Priority Services Register who are unable to collect supplies themselves.
If needed, we will open bottled water stations and community hubs in the area if supply interruptions are likely.
How can customers help?
We still urge our customers to use water for essential purposes only: drinking, cooking and hygiene.
