African Swine Fever Alert

African Swine Fever affects all pigs, including wild boar. The disease is not the same as swine flu and does not affect humans. The Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) and Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA) are monitoring the situation.Please share these posters with local businesses to inform the public about the dangers if feeding meat or meat products to pigs or wild boar.To find out more, click here to read Government advice.

 

What to do?African Swine Fever is a notifiable animal disease. If you suspect it, you must report it immediately to Defra Rural Services Helpline on 03000 200 301. Failure to do so is an offence.
