UPDATE: Please note, a change of date for the closure of Sweechbridge Road, Herne Bay. The works were due to take place the night of 27th March, however, this has been bought forward. The revised date is the 26th March between the hours of 8:00am and 16:00pm.
Urgent Road Closure – Sweechbridge Road, Herne Bay – 26th March 2023 (Canterbury)
It will be necessary to close Sweechbridge Road, Herne Bay from 26th March 2023 for up to 1 day.
The road will be closed between the junctions of Neville Road and Maystreet.
The alternative route is via:
Northbound traffic is via Sweechbridge Road, Heart in Hand Road, A299 Thanet Way, Margate Road, Margate Road Interchange, Mickleburgh Hill and Reculver Road.
Southbound traffic is via Reculver Road, Margate Road, A299 Thanet Way, Heart in Hand Road, May Street and Sweechbridge Road.
It is planned that the road will be closed between 08:00 hrs and 16:00 hrs.
Access is to be maintained for residents where safe to do so.
This is to enable carriageway patching to be carried out by Kent County Council.
