Emergency Road Closure – A299 Thanet Way, Herne and Broomfield, Chislet and Saint Nicholas at Wade Birchington – 18th August 2022 (Canterbury)
It will be necessary to close A299 Thanet Way, Herne and Broomfield Chislet and Saint Nicholas at Wade Birchington will be closed London bound to through traffic, on or 18th August 2022 for up to 1 night and 25th August for 6 nights excluding Saturday 27th, Sunday 28th and August bank holiday night.
The road will be closed London bound from Saint Nicholas at Wade roundabout to Eddington on slip.
The alternative route is via A28 Canterbury Road, Island Road, Staines Hill, Island Road, A291 Sturry Hill, Herne Bay Road, Calcott Hill, Canterbury Road, Herne Street Canterbury Road.
It is planned that the road will be closed between 19:00 hrs and 06:00 hrs each night.
This closure is necessary to enable safety critical works due to undulations within carriageway to be carried out by Kent County Council.
