This is to let you know that, as part of the on-going maintenance and improvement of the highway network, Kent County Council will be working to improve the footway surfaces of Curlew Close, Goldfinch Close, Partridge Close & Pintail Way in Herne Bay.
As a surface treatment, these works are carried out quite quickly in each area we work, they are programmed to commence on the 19/06/2024 and should be completed by the 05/07/2024. These activities will generally be undertaken between the hours of 7:30am & 6pm.
These footway surface improvement works are carried out in three phases.
• Firstly, It may be necessary to prepare the existing surface by carrying out some patching or kerbing works. A weed spray will also be applied, this phase of the work may have already been completed.
• Secondly, we will cut back the edges of any adjoining grass verges, power wash the surface of the footway and adjust the level of any footway chamber covers that require it. Some of this work may also have been
completed already.
• The final and main phase is the application of the surface preservation treatment to the footway surface.
To keep you informed of our progress you will receive a leaflet with some comprehensive information about the application, and the treatment itself from our contractor Kiely Bros 3 days prior to the works commencing in the vicinity of your property, please do take some time to read this leaflet and keep it for the duration of the works.
Signs will be erected along the road in advance showing the above date and duration for this final phase of works.
This type of work can be affected by weather conditions, so should it not possible for us to start the work within a few days of the specified date, we will arrange a new date and let you know via a letter drop to your home.
During these essential works it will be necessary to close sections of the footway so that we can carry out the works safely for both the workforce and road users.
