In a Water Emergency, Every Second Counts (Message from Kent Fire and Rescue Service).

As the weather warms up and more people head outdoors, the risk of accidental drowning also increases.

If you ever see someone in trouble in the water, being able to act quickly and know who to ask for when dialling 999, can save valuable time.

For rescues from a lake, river, canal, or any inland water across Kent and Medway, call 999 and ask for the fire service.

If the incident is at the coast or in the sea, call 999 and ask for the coastguard.

Please help us spread this important safety message with your family and friends.
