Dear Residents and Businesses,
I am writing to make you aware of increased police activity across the coastal area this weekend, particularly during the evening periods.
Local Neighbourhood Community Safety Unit officers will be carrying out high-visibility patrols to provide reassurance, engage with the community, and address any emerging issues linked to anti-social behaviour (ASB).
A Section 34 dispersal order will also be in place in Whitstable, giving officers additional powers to deal robustly with individuals or groups involved in nuisance or anti-social behaviour. This may include requiring people to leave the area and taking further enforcement action where necessary.
These measures are in place to ensure that residents and visitors can enjoy the area safely and responsibly during what is expected to be a busy period.
We would encourage anyone witnessing anti-social behaviour to report it:
· In an emergency, or if a crime is in progress – please call 999
· For non-emergencies – report via 101 or online
· Alternatively, you can respond directly to this message. While responses are not monitored live, they will be reviewed and progressed on the next working day.
