We are writing to update you on the water supply issue we have been experiencing in the Herne Bay area this afternoon.
The two water treatment works affected by the power issues earlier are operating as normal and water levels in the drinking water storage tank which supplies the area are recovering.
We are not expecting to see any impact to customer supplies this evening and overnight.
What are we doing?
As a precaution, we have proactively delivered bottled water to customers on our Priority Services Register.
We have set up a bottled water station in the town as a precaution at:
Kavanagh Cinema, Herne Bay Leisure Centre, William St, Herne Bay CT6 5NX
As all customers are currently in supply, this site is not open. It is being set up as a precaution.
We will update you if there are to be impacts to supply and the site needs to be opened.
As a precaution, we have also contacted schools within the potentially affected area to make sure they have everything that they need to be able to open tomorrow in case there are issues.

We have informed care and medical facilities in the area and will support them with any additional water needs.
