Canterbury City Council is consulting on proposals for a new Dog Control Public Space Protection Order (PSPO), which would apply for three years.
This is a reminder that we are hosting two public engagement sessions in the near future, and we would like to extend an invite to all residents to attend.
Thursday 27 August, 5:30pm to 7:00pm at The Beaney, 18 High Street, Canterbury.
Thursday 10 September, 5:30pm to 7:00pm at the Swalecliffe and Chestfield Community Association, 19 St John’s Road, Whitstable.
The events will begin with a presentation followed by a Q&A session.
No booking is required for attendance.
The current Dog Control PSPO https://www.canterbury.gov.uk/sites/default/files/2024-06/Dogs%20public%20space%20protection%20order.pdf has been in place since May 2024 and sets out standards of behaviour that all dog owners in the district’s public spaces are required to follow.

The survey asks for your views on:
the principles of the dog control order
whether you have experienced problems in specific areas, what that was like, and the impact it has had on your quality of life
what should and should not be covered by the order going forward
