Temporary Road Closure – A291 Herne Bay Road, Sturry

It will be necessary to close part of A291 Herne Bay RoadSturry from 19th June 2023 with estimated completion by 30th June 2023, between the hours of 20.00 and 05.00.

A291 Herne Bay Road will be closed between the junctions of Sweechgate and Deansway Avenue to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site. Sweechgate will be closed at the junction with A291 Herne Bay Road to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site. Popes Lane will be closed at the junction with A291 Herne Bay Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for A291 Herne Bay Road is via A291 Herne Bay Road, A291 Canterbury Road, A291 Herne Street, A291 Canterbury Road, A299 Thanet Way, St Nicholas at Wade roundabout. A28 Canterbury Road, A28 Island Road, A28 Staines Hill, A28 Island Road, A291 Sturry Hill, A291 Herne Bay and vice versa. The alternative route for Sweechgate is via A291 Herne Bay Road, Sturry Hill, A28 Mill Road, Sturry Road, Vauxhall Road, Shalloak Road, Sweechgate and vice versa. The alternative route for Popes Lane is via Popes Lane, Deansway Avenue and vice versa.

The closures are required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway surfacing works are undertaken by Walker Construction Ltd.
