Harlaxton Energy Networks Limited – Temporary Road Closures & 40 Mph Speed Restrictions – Various Roads, Herne Bay, Herne & Broomfield – 5th October 2026.
Due to works planned to be undertaken by Harlaxton Energy Networks Limited, it will be necessary to restrict traffic on various roads throughout Herne Bay, Herne & Broomfield. Restrictions are planned in phases from 5th October 2026, with estimated completion by 30th October 2026, or until the works have been completed.
Phase 1
These restrictions will be imposed from 5th October 2026, with estimated completion by 16th October 2026.
Mill Lane, Herne
The road will be closed near the junction to join A299 Thanet Way, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for southbound traffic is via A299 Thanet Way, A291 Canterbury Road, Herne Street, School Lane and Mill Lane.
The alternative route for northbound traffic is via Mill Lane, Hunters Forstal Road, Margate Road and A299 Thanet Way.
A299 Thanet Way, Herne & Broomfield
A temporary, mandatory 40 mph speed restriction will be imposed from 850m before the work site to 100m after, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
Phase 2
These restrictions will be imposed from 19th October 2026, with estimated completion by 30th October 2026.
Owls Hatch Road, South Of Thanet Way, Herne Bay
The road will be closed in the vicinity of the abandoned building near the bend, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Owls Hatch Road, Bullockstone Road, Greenhill Road, A299 Thanet Way, Greenhill Road, Thornden Wood Road and vice versa.
A299 Thanet Way, Herne Bay
A temporary, mandatory 40 mph speed restriction will be imposed from 850m before the work site to 100m after, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The restrictions are required for the safety of the public and workforce while ducting and cabling works are undertaken by Harlaxton Energy Networks Limited.
