Please note these works have now been rescheduled to take place from 13th November 2023, with estimated completion by 12th January 2024.
SGN – Temporary Road Closures – Various Roads, Herne Bay – 23rd October 2023 (Canterbury District)
Due to works planned to be undertaken by SGN, it will be necessary to close part of various roads, Herne Bay from 23rd October 2023, with estimated completion by 22nd December 2023.
WORKS SCHEDULE
Lower Herne Road, Herne Bay
Phase 1
Lower Herne Road will be closed from 23rd October 2023, with estimated completion by 24th November 2023.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of number 23, to the junction with A291 Canterbury Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via Lower Herne Road, A291 Canterbury Road and vice versa.
Lower Herne Road, Herne Bay
Phase 2
Lower Herne Road will be closed from 13th November 2023, with estimated completion by 1st December 2023.
The road will be closed from the junction with A291 Canterbury Road, to number 37, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via Lower Herne Road, A291 Canterbury Road and vice versa.
Mill View Road, Herne Bay
Mill View Road will be closed from 27th November 2023, with estimated completion by 22nd December 2023.
The road will be closed from the junction with A291 Canterbury Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via Mill View Road, Mill Lane, School Lane, A291 Canterbury Road and vice versa.
A291 Canterbury Road (service road) , Herne Bay
A91 Canterbury Road will be closed from 27th November 2023, with estimated completion by 22nd December 2023, between the hours of 09.00 and 16.00. The road will be closed in its entirety, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
There is no alternative route for this closure, however, access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
The closures are required for the safety of the public and workforce while gas main replacement works are undertaken by SGN.
